Kristi Egland, PhD, is the Medical Science Liaison and Science Advisor for Business Development for Sanford Health. She brings her experience of being a scientist with a demonstrated history of working in the hospital and health care industry as well as directing a cancer research program to her new role in commercialization. Being a liaison, Dr. Egland communicates scientific opportunities to physicians and their teams. She is active in the Edith Sanford Breast Initiative and serves as the science spokesperson. Dr. Egland is the Science Advisor for Business Development under Kim Patrick and works closely with his commercialization team. Her main focus is pursuing a blood test for breast cancer, and she is currently collaborating with Inanovate in Sioux Falls to develop this test and push it into the clinic.

Dr. Egland has 18 years of experience in identifying novel tumor biomarkers. She is skilled in translational and clinical research, molecular biology, cell biology and biochemistry. She is a strong research professional with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) focused in Molecular Biology from University of Iowa and post-doctoral training at the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.
